How KBS Works

① Base Points
Pocket Accuracy
Every first ball is judged by the quality of the pocket hit.
Solid Pocket shots are rewarded the most because they are the gold standard
Light Pocket shots still score well as they have a good chance of resulting in a strike
Heavy Pocket shots get some credit, but much less as the chance of getting splits increases dramatically
Headpin hits are poor shots and score very little
Brooklyns may knock down pins, but they are not quality shots, so they barely score
Missing the headpin completely (to the left or right) scores nothing
KBS rewards execution, not lucky pinfall.
② Strike Bonuses
Strikes matter even more when they come from solid pockets and repeatable execution.
- A double shows you are starting to build momentum
- A turkey or better shows real control and repeatability
- XX9A Frame 10 double is heavily rewarded because finishing strong matters
- Six Solid Pockets rewards sustained quality ball placement over the course of a game
KB Scoring rewards bowlers who can repeat great shots.
③ Spare Bonuses
Spare shooting is a huge part of good bowling, so KBS rewards that too.
- A normal spare earns bonus points
- A split spare earns even more because it is harder to convert
- A clean game earns extra reward because it shows control, discipline, and consistency from start to finish
